Pocket Hugs

A project for family and friends during Covid 19 lockdown. I got plenty of fabric scraps from a friend who sews. I have made around a dozen so far.   Also our church women are making some for congregation members.

My Mum,  who is 88 years old,  appreciated her pocket hug. Have not seen her all year due to travel restrictions.

Thanks to Julie for her free pattern here  https://www.sumoftheirstories.com/blog/how-to-make-a-pocket-hug

The Times They Are a Changin'

Rabbit Ears Orchid
Cooped up at home and avoiding the Corona Virus.
My March finish is a ODW project on 123 Forum.  From Jill Oxton Magazine
The different yellows of the orchid do not show up very well.  Rabbit Ears is the common name.

Cooling Off

This tiny mermaid was a cool stitch in our extreme summer weather.
It is for the ODW stitch on 123 Message Board for January. A freebie design from

Resuming Stitching on Mother's Tree

"Mother's Tree" designed  by  Marilyn Leavitt-Imblum
I have chosen to stitch the married names of each woman I am descended from.  Thank you to my Mother for the family history information.

I stitched in a variegated thread by Jennifer Gail from the UK.  When this was no longer available,  I had to pull out the tree part of the design.
I have made some progress with new choice of thread.   I am using a Cottage Garden Thread "Oregano" for the tree, which is hand dyed in Australia.
Last year i had cataract operations also,  which meant time off stitching.
My aim is to finish in 2020.
