My cross stitching blog. I have been cross stitching on and off since 1969. In 1969 I did a stamped cross stitch d'oyley under the supervision of my Grandma. Her home was number 78. I spent many pleasant hours at that house as I often went there for holidays as a child. Now I prefer counted cross stitch . Some other crafts keep me busy too

Christmas ornament
I stitched this Lizzie Kate design from JCS magazine on perforated paper. The recipient is a forum swap partner. It was a quick stitch for the month of December, ideal to be done along with all the other Advent activities.

Ornaments for Christmas
I have made a start!
The patterns come from BH&G magazine of a few years ago.
I will finish them off with some red and white Christmas fabric and ribbon.

Tasty Cupcake
It is a long time since I posted here, but life gets busy with many activities and trips to see family, and then family visiting here.
Cross stitch has been on my mind and in my hands, with several WIPS on the go.
This is a completion for a swap through
http://stitchedwithloveexchanges.blogspot.com.au/2012/06/tea-party-in-garden.html
It is a Jill Oxton design done on hand dyed fabric. I picked up the frame, made in Australian timber, at local op- shop and I knew I would find a purpose for it one day.

Happy Easter
Another bird's egg stitch for an Easter card.
This pattern is from a UK magazine CrossStitcher Issue 198
In the magazine they pictured these birds eggs on a decoration ribbon to go around an Easter cake. I would love to make one one day.

"Bless the Baby" finished
Finished the design by Lizze Kate and personalised it with a dragon button up the top and a glass celtic button near the name. The button is blue and symbolises the baby's Irish and Scottish heritage.
USA, England and Switzerland are other countries of ancestors of the baby.

A present for first Grandson
January has been a busy stitching time while watching the summer sports on TV. My Mother has been busy knitting a pram/cot cover with a most unusual pattern. She is certainly the knitting expert in the family.
My top picture is Lizzie Kate design which is a WIP. I have yet to decide on a button to add and I have to stitch baby's name
The next picture is a rabbit stitched on a singlet.
Also I have done a piece for a swap which I cannot reveal as yet.
